Create an Oasis

by Ruvi Makuni

If you’ve been having trouble sleeping maybe try and design your bedroom into a warm and inviting space that promotes relaxation.

Aside from being the place where we lay our heads at night, our bedroom can be even more of an oasis than a comfortable place to crash.

Here are a few ideas that might help add some extra relaxation to your bedroom:

  • Choose to spend 15-30 minutes at night in your room before committing to sleep for the night. Use this time to light a candle and read a book or journal.
  • Keep a room free of clutter……maybe even move the tv out of the bedroom too :-). If needed, pick up each day and make your bed each morning for a tidier and put together atmosphere.
  • Have softer lighting around the room so you can avoid having the overhead light blaring on you. Grab a few small lamps to scatter around the room for a softer feel.
  • Grab your favorite cozy blanket and keep it close by for those wind-down moments at night.

Do you spend time in your room before you lie down to sleep at night?
